The award winning social enterprise, Batik Boutique, launches its second boutique outlet on 2 May 2019 in Desaru. Batik Boutique partnered with the Westin Hotel to provide a quality gift and souvenir boutique onsite for the international and local guests.
“I am thrilled at the opportunity to open a boutique within the Westin brand hotels. Both brands stand for excellent products and service, and it is encouraging the management sees the importance of providing quality gifts and to give back to communities in Malaysia, “ said CEO and Founder of Batik Boutique, Amy Blair.
Batik Boutique, founded in 2014, sells hand-crafted batik gifts, fashion accessories, and apparels. Batik Boutique supports a sewing training centre in Kuala Lumpur and provides skills training and economic opportunities to artisans in the B40 segment.
Batik Boutique’s first outlet is located in Kuala Lumpur and caters to corporate companies and retail customers in the Klang Valley. With the launch of their new outlet in Desaru, they will expand their market to Johor and Singapore.
At the new boutique, you will find many of the same unique gifts and apparels available in their Kuala Lumpur location. However, there are additional prints created specifically with the resort in mind and unique to the décor of the Westin. They will also sell other products curated from local brands such as Fugeelah, Amazin Graze, Tea Bird Tea, and Lokamade.
“We hope the new boutique provides visitors to Desaru Coast with a fabulous offering of gifts and fashion accessories that are truly Malaysian and world class,” said Blair.
