2016 was a tremendous year of growth and impact for the Batik Boutique. Collectively, we partnered with over 75 artisans, trained 25 women in sewing skills, and produced over 18,000 Malaysian made products purchased both in Malaysia and internationally. We are working hard to establish a new sewing center in early 2017 to impact more lives, and we plan to introduce more training to our artisans in financial literacy and English proficiency. We’ll of course continue to bring you a new perspective on Malaysian batik gifts, and we have a few surprises coming for our corporate customers too!
Every gift you purchase impacts real people like kak Dayang and their families. Dayang is a single mother of 6, and a cancer survivor, who had no skills in sewing. After working with the Batik Boutique this year, she grew in her skills, her income increased monthly, and she is set to take on more management roles with us in 2017. This is empowerment!
Thank you for being part of our journey.
Wishing you and yours a very Merry Christmas and a Happy, Healthy, and Prosperous New Year,

Amy Blair, Founder and CEO
