Crafted by skilled Malaysian artisans, this unique and premium-quality shibori scarf is a testament to artisan made. Great for any occasion, whether as office wear, in cool environment or as a gift from Malaysia.

Mangosteen is meticulously crafted through the tie-resist textile painting technique known as shibori on silk cotton, using an eco-friendly plant-based dye derived from mangosteen, reflecting a harmonious blend of artistry and sustainability.

Material: Immerse yourself in pure luxury with this scarf, skillfully made from the natural fibers of silk cotton.

Design: Our shibori silk scarves, adorned with the Batik Boutique logo embroidered at the edge, are elegantly presented in a black box, making them an excellent gift option. Each scarf measures 79" L (201 cm) x 26" W (66 cm) and is versatile, suitable for wearing around the neck, as a shawl, or as a stylish headscarf (hijab).

Unique Variations: Each piece is a work of art, with colors and prints that may vary from one another. Due to the nature of plant-based dyes, the print and color will have a discoloring over time and is part of the eco-dyed process. No refunds or exchanges will be given as this is a natural process.

Artisan Craftsmanship: Crafted with pride by artisans in Malaysia, this shibori scarf is a collaborative masterpiece brought to life by a team of 24 dedicated artisans and seamstresses.

Care Instructions: To preserve the beauty of your shibori scarf, we recommend:

  • Hand wash with cold water using mild detergent and softener for a gentle yet effective clean
  • Hang to dry to maintain the fabric's integrity
  • Use a warm iron if necessary for that flawless finish

  • Unique Artistry: Each garment is a limited-edition masterpiece, with intricate motifs painstakingly hand-drawn by skilled Malaysian artisans for over 8 hours. No two pieces are exactly alike - you'll own a one-of-a-kind wearable work of art that blends contemporary style with ancient techniques.
  • Preserving Generational Craftsmanship: Each garment showcase the dedication of generational Malaysian batik makers from rural Malaysian villages. Using time-honoured wax-resist dyeing and traditional canting tools, our skilled artisans meticulously hand-print every garment - an unparalleled celebration of authentic heritage craftsmanship.
  • Ethical, Sustainable Artistry: Unlike disposable fast fashion, our pieces are ethically crafted in limited quantities through sustainable production methods. From the hand-drawn designs rooted in centuries-old techniques to the eco-friendly dyes used, every garment is an authentic work of cultural artistry.
  • Empowering Malaysian Communities: Your purchase helps support over 200 artisans from 10 rural Malaysian villages.
