Ever seen how batik is made? With the traditional techniques of batik such as canting (a pen-like tool) and block stamping, artists and artisans are able to explore modern and creative designs freely. This then produces an overall pattern or design made into a beautiful, complex and sometimes imperfect batik fabric.
Batik skillfully printed and dyed is then sent to Batik Boutique sewing centers. The seamstresses and tailors, who are from low-income families and refugee communities, receive skills training and fair wages to produce premium quality products. We provide economic opportunities for artisans looking to grow in sustainable skills and break the cycle of poverty.
Our mission is further supported through partnerships with various brands and organizations in creating customized corporate gifts. We have a skilled design team and vast production abilities and have partnered with well-known brands such as IKEA, Spotify, Nestlé, and more to help impact communities on a much bigger scale while meeting client needs for marketing and branding purposes.
Our brand is accredited by the Malaysian Global Innovation & Creativity Centre (MaGIC) as a social enterprise that produces high quality, handmade batik products by local Malaysian artisans. Not only that, but we are also a part of the Sustainable Development Goals by the United Nations (UN). Some of the goals are our very core values; of disrupting the cycle of poverty. We have continuously produced unique batik for all while impacting the livelihood and sustainability of the artisans and their families.
