Each batik shirt was handcrafted by skilled artisans in Malaysia, many of whom are women from B40 (bottom 40% income) communities. The process combined traditional techniques with modern aesthetics to produce pieces that reflect brand integrity and cultural richness.
This collaboration showcased how fashion can become a medium for storytelling, a platform for social good, and a meaningful part of a company’s identity.

For this project, over a dozen artisans came together to create Deloitte’s custom batik shirts. Each artisan was paid fairly, worked in safe environments, and received ongoing support and training through Batik Boutique’s programs. These jobs are not temporary—they are part of a long-term effort to ensure economic stability, confidence, and independence for women and their families.
